About Thursday Night Hoops

Every Thursday Night about 15 guys in their late 20's to late 40's get together in midwestern suburbia to play some basketball. Some of their friendships go back for decades, some are relatively new. For some of the guys, the only way they know each other is through Thursday Night Hoops.

After the game, 5-10 of us go to a local bar to hang out and discuss "issues". When most guys get together the conversation barely gets past sports and maybe politics. Not here. Here's a chance for guys to throw out some stuff that's on their minds and get the opinions and experiences of a group of buddies on how to deal with them. Spouses, kids, religion, jobs, friends, neighbors, finances, in-law, random social situations and, yeah, a little sports and politics too. If you can think of it, this group discusses it.

The conversations are often funny, and at the same time incredibly informative. Just a bunch of friends helping each other navigate through life, and having a good time doing it.

All the guys starting noticing on Fridays and over the weekends that their spouses, significant others, friends at work, etc. were really curious to find out what the Issues were. Male friends would tell us that they had spent some of their weekends discussing the issues with friends and spouses. Even more interesting, female friends would tell us they loved getting insight into how their spouses and guy friends were thinking.
